Podcast: London’s rich chocolate scene
Before the bi-annual Chocolate Festival comes to Islington this weekend, Zay Arguelles takes a tour of the capital’s best chocolatiers
Bean-to-bar chocolates and water ganache, chilli dark chocolates and black pudding truffles – with a range of new adventurous flavours, Britain is becoming the centre for expertise and innovation when it comes to that favourite of sweet sins, even surpassing the likes of Belgium and Switzerland. At least when you ask Chantal Coady, the owner of Rococo Chocolates who recently became the first chocolatier to receive an OBE for her work.
Also listen for a visit to Paul A. Young, who produces Europe’s first whole-bean chocolate bars, and Sela Yair, the organiser of chocolate meet-ups around London.
